HI FRIENDS! It’s been too long.
Sorry I haven’t written in a while. I know you are desperately wanting to know what has been going on in the world of Allie No Boobs.
I’m here to tell you, a whole lotta nothin’.
Here’s a typical day:
I wake up; eat some breakfast and take my antibiotic and 2 Advil. Maybe a Xanax depending on how I’m feeling.
Then I sit on the couch. Mom and I watch Will and Grace for 2 hours, and then I find Reba. Reba is on like 3 different stations, and we have all the seasons on DVD. I LOVE REBA.
Then if I’m feeling real froggy (or if it’s been a day) I decide (or Mom reminds me) to shower. I can shower all by myself, and wash my hair. I have even shaved. Here’s a note for those of you who are reading and may be going through the same thing, shaving your arm pits after having a mastectomy sucks!!!!!!! Sorry, I try to stay positive but there’s no positive spin on that, other than the fact that I shaved my pits. It’s probably my least favorite part so far. So in reality, not that bad!!! 🙂
After I shower, I complain to Mom about how I need a nap. She then convinces me to brush my hair, which leads to me to drying and straightening my hair by myself. I’m a badass. I’m not just saying that, even my plastic surgeon in not so many words said I was. Then he saw me put a sheet over my head so I didn’t have to watch him put a needle in me, so I kind of lost some badassness there. Whatever. 🙂
OK but for real. That leads me to a topic of importance, I went to the Plastic Surgeon yesterday. Everything went great! I got 1 set of drains out and he started stretching me!
Friends, I was freaking out about this. So bad. Guess what? I didn’t feel a thing. That’s the thing about mastectomies; you don’t really have feeling afterwards. Ya know what? I’m happy about that now! He snipped the stitch that held the drain in and then it was done. AND the stretching was crazy. I have a port in each side that he finds with a magnet. Once he finds it, he marks it and then sticks a giant needle into me that I can’t feel at all and boom! I kind of have some boobs! WHOOOOO!!!!
So that’s pretty much what’s been going on here. Everything is great!!! 🙂
AND on an even better note, Jeff is going to be here super soon! YAYYYYYY! I even survived not having Jeff here for 5 days.
Stay positive and try to see the good in everything my friends. I promise It makes life a whole lot easier!
I love you all and I’ll talk to you soon!
(P.S. If you are in St. Louis area and would like to stop by and spend time with me watching Reba or Will and Grace, visitors are always welcome! Seriously, my stuffed animals are becoming my friends. Shout out to Lacey Face for sending me my little Slothens. I’ll upload pictures next time). ❤
